Web PHP Programmer

Our office is located in a relaxed environment located next to a pond in central New Jersey (Hillsborough). Most of our clients are also in central NJ. You would be required to work on-site at our offices, and on occasion meet with our clients at their locations in the tri-state area.
Our Interactive team creates small to large websites and custom content management systems, with open source tools. We also create video productions that include videotaped and animated segments.
You would report to the Director of Interactive but receive your direction from our Lead Web Programmer.
You would be asked to:
1) Work with account managers, producers, design staff and clients to understand their needs, prior to coding (reading user requirement documents; also making recommendations on ways to improve them.)
2) When requested, design and present database schema visually using DBdesigner4 or other database modeling tools.
3) Code websites in CSS, XHTML, HTML5, Javascript, JQuery, PHP V5, MySQL V5, Smarty Templates, based on our existing CMS codebase and occasionally support code written with ASP as well as Oracle and SQL Server databases. Also create sites using Expression Engine 2.1 CMS.
4) Add new features and also modify and support existing code and databases, for existing websites.
5) Meet aggressive deadlines, even if requiring extended work hours.
6) Must remain calm in all situations.
You must:
1) Be a self starter with high standards, able to work independently or on a team and be open about offering options/solutions.
2) Know how to design database schema, and setup/administer MySQL databases using PHPMyAdmin.
3) Know how to use Photoshop for cutting-up [pixel-perfect] designs: creating individual buttons/images based on larger graphic design model, and optimizing for web use as jpeg or gif files.
4) Know how to program Web sites using: validated CSS2 and XHTML, Javascript, AJAX, PHP V5 (with Smarty Templates), MySQL V4 or V5 and Apache V1.3 or V2
It’s a plus if you have:
1) Experience meeting with clients to discuss their needs/requirements, and to review Web site designs, prototypes/click-throughs, etc.
2) Experience working with and setting up Linux based Web hosting companies/environments (Pair Networks, ServInt, Peer1, Rackspace)
3) Basic Linux and Apache skills (configuration/maintenance) though this job is not for a System Administrator!
4) An understanding of Search Engine Optimization techniques as it pertains to content placement, use of mod_rewrite for search engine friendly URL’s, good use of H1, H2, ALT tags and customized Titles and Descriptions.
5) Any experience with Cocoa/Objective C, Android/Java, Windows/ASP.net 3.5/C#, SQL Server 2000+, JSP, Java or Oracle 9+.
6) An understanding of XML and Web Services.
7) Experience with creating Macromedia Flash/ActionScript.
