Web Process

C7 Web Project Methodology

At JK Design, our foundation for success is our C7 Web Project Methodology. Our Web Design Methodology includes seven steps, allowing our clients to have a clear set of expectations and easily track their project’s status. This Web Process ensures that your goals are met. Without following a Web Project Methodology such as C7, you run the risk of project delays, cost overruns and inferior quality. Depending on the project, these steps may occur sequentially or they may overlap.

Step 1: Consult

JK Design will meet with you to discuss your goals, objectives and target audiences and learn about your branding, content strategy, business processes, technical systems and basic functional requirements. Initially during this step, we will create a Project Proposal to document the scope, deliverables and schedule for your project. Our Project Management time is also logged to our Consult step.

Step 2: Construct

A good blueprint is essential to the success of any project. You wouldn't build a home without a blueprint would you? Of course you wouldn't! So why would you build a Web site without a plan?

Our Construct Step is an essential part of every Web project. During this step, we will meet with you on a weekly basis, to create the blueprint for your project, otherwise known as the Functional Specifications. This document includes a site map, wireframes and final user requirements. The Functional Specs are created so they are uniformly understandable by all people involved in the project.

If required, we will also create system flowcharts (use cases), and possibly technical specifications to document the Web server technical environments.

Step 3: Create

Based on the documents created during Step 2, we will design customized graphical home page interface design concepts and sub-page designs.

Step 4: Content

JK Design may create a Content Plan which documents the Web pages that must be populated and related content.

Step 5: Code

Our developers will design the database and code the HTML, scripting and SQL based on your project's functional specifications and interface designs. Many of our basic SEO coding techniques can be implemented during this step.

Step 6: Confirm

During this step, we will test your site to confirm that it has met or exceeded your requirements.

Step 7: Commit

After testing is completed, JK Design will deploy your Web site to the production environment. The Web site will then be launched after final production testing.
