Challenge

As the global leader in technology protection services, Asurion provides more than 90 million consumers worldwide with best-in-class, next-day device replacement and roadside assistance. Asurion partners with North America’s top five nationwide wireless carriers, many regional providers, and other wireless companies to help customers get a replacement phone quickly. With numerous retail locations around the world, Asurion needed an engaging way to present sales materials, videos and other training information to sales associates at each site.

 

Solution

JK Design was ready to meet the challenge of grabbing – and keeping – the attention of busy sales professionals. Leveraging the interactive capabilities of Apple’s iPad tablet device, JK Design built a customized, immersive training application for Asurion to utilize at retail locations of one of the top five wireless carriers. Our designers and programmers believed that the sleek, compact form factor of the iPad would be ideal for presenting training materials and videos. An interactive quiz was also developed to encourage sales associates to actively participate in the training. JK Design also created a training website which allowed Asurion to quickly and easily update content and provide messaging and data to retail account managers in the field. Additionally, we developed a mechanism for data captured on the iPad during store visits to synchronize over the air with the CMS powering the training site, and ultimately, their CRM software.

 

Results

Sales associates at the wireless carrier had an immediate positive response to the iPad training application. Their curiosity about the technology and its interactive features led to increased engagement with the training materials. The net result was a more informed retail sales team equipped with the most current information. Asurion retail account managers were able to reach more sales associates in less time, provide more engaging content, and capture data that will be used to help refine training and enhance their products and services.
