There’s no equivalent word in the English language for sobremesa, which, in Spanish, means “upon the table.” Whether you use the word as a noun or a verb, the concept itself is universal: a relaxed time after a meal when people catch up, share opinions and beliefs, and connect on a deeper, more meaningful level.

At its core, it’s storytelling.

At JK, we appreciate the importance of this beautiful tradition. In fact, it’s ingrained in our company culture. We know that storytelling is how we connect with each other on an intellectual, emotional, and cultural level.

And storytelling is something we’re excited to honor during Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15-October 15, 2022.
