JK Design proudly announces its latest business certifications

JK tells compelling stories and creates end-to-end brand experiences in collaboration with clients who share our passion. To do our best work, we rely on a brilliant team of individuals who bring their unique POVs and lived experiences to the table. After all, the most powerful ideas are born from diverse perspectives.

We’re excited to share our current business certifications and affiliations that demonstrate our commitment to diversity, as well as our dedication to sustainability and the agility that comes along with being a certified New Jersey Small Business Enterprise (SBE).

WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise

JK is certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the largest certifier of women’s business enterprises in the US. The WBENC standard of certification is a rigorous process designed to confirm that a business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women. It includes an in-depth review of the business and site inspection.

“I’m proud to lead an agency that is not only certified as women-owned, but is also committed to hiring and developing female talent,” said Martha Marchesi, JK’s CEO, who notes that over 60% of the agency’s staff is female.

Sustainability: Bronze Medal from EcoVadis

Most recently, JK received a bronze medal from EcoVadis, a globally-recognized assessment platform that rates businesses’ sustainability performance across four categories: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. A bronze rating demonstrates that JK ranks in the top 35% of all companies assessed—supporting our expertise as a sustainability storyteller for major brands.

Disability-owned Business Enterprise (DOBE)

We’re also proud to be certified by Disability:IN as a Disability-owned Business Enterprise (DOBE). A disability-owned business enterprise is a for-profit business that is at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by a person with a disability.

Proud of Our Progress

“We’re so proud to hold these certifications, but what’s most important to us is what this means for our clients,” says Katie Kaulius, Director, New Business Development at JK Design. “Our size and diverse-owned statuses mean that we can remain a nimble partner and bring fresh perspectives to every single engagement. And, of course, we’re glad to be able to support our clients’ supplier diversity goals as well,” she says.
