JK’s CEO was honored at the NJBIZ award ceremony recognizing women making significant impacts on New Jersey business and the community.

Martha Marchesi

JK is proud to announce that our CEO Martha Marchesi was named one of the 2021 Best 50 Women in Business by NJBIZ. The Princeton resident and Boston University alum was honored at a virtual awards ceremony on Oct. 25. View the full ceremony here (or click here to fast-forward to Martha’s story).

The award recognizes women who are shattering stereotypes, and the glass ceiling, with the significant impacts they are making on New Jersey business and the community at large.

Marchesi—a veteran of such Madison Avenue agencies as Grey, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Della Femina—was appointed as JK’s first female CEO in 2019. She is responsible for driving JK’s strategic vision, nurturing its collaborative culture, and ensuring that the agency consistently delivers top-tier creative and strategic solutions.

She joins a group of female award winners in senior leadership positions across a variety of industries and disciplines. Honorees were evaluated by a panel of independent judges on several criteria including career accomplishments, vision, and community service.

“The proudest achievement of my career was becoming CEO of JK Design, knowing that the founders trusted me to help shape the agency—and had the confidence that I would take the right steps to move us forward,” said Marchesi.

As a woman, it is particularly meaningful and rewarding to be at the helm of a company, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help nurture new generations of diverse talent. That’s the only way we can continue to grow, to elevate our work, and to be valuable to our clients and their own diverse employees and customers.”

“Martha is a skilled leader, a master brand storyteller, and a constant champion for our employees,” said Barbara Kaulius, JK co-founder and CHRO.

“From enhancing JK’s reputation for industry knowledge and thought leadership to smoothly leading our pivot to an all-virtual environment when the pandemic hit, she continually sets a stellar example for our staff and makes us a stronger partner for our clients.”
