This year, we had the exciting opportunity to relaunch JK’s internship program with three extremely talented and wonderfully enthusiastic students/recent grads. It’s been a blast getting to know them—and now you can, too!

Meet the JK summer interns.

So, who are they? Meet Chloe, Julia, and Sana.

Chloe is a graduate of Rider University with a major in Communications and a minor in Social Media Strategies.

Julia is a Temple University grad who majored in Advertising with a concentration in copywriting. And Sana is currently studying Graphic & Interactive Design with Entrepreneurial Studies at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University.

What do you do as an intern at JK?

Chloe: As the account management intern, I’m able to do all sorts of fun stuff! I’m currently immersed in Signify and Weichert, and soon I’ll also be the new project manager for JK’s social channels. I use our timesheet tool to help open up new job numbers and components, track budgets through budget trackers, sit in on different meetings for the different accounts/projects, and help out wherever I can.

Julia: I assist the senior copywriter with JK social content, and help others on the creative team however I can. Sometimes this means proofreading.

Sana: At JK, I am a Graphic Design intern designing both print and digital materials. I have the privilege to work in collaboration with members of the creative leadership team and learn about the initial concepts to final deliverables of a given project. I get to gain an understanding on who the key target audiences are and how to ensure quality work to meet the clients’ needs on time.

Why JK?

Chloe: I chose JK because I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable the first moment I met JK-ers at my interview. I’m so glad I chose JK because I quickly learned that it’s not just my interviewers who are so welcoming, but everyone at JK!

Julia: Of all the agencies I researched and applied to, JK stood out because of their down-to-earth, yet confident persona. I admire their values as a company, as well as their efforts to give back to their community.

Sana: JK is a small to midsize agency and when you work for an agency this size, you get to wear different hats which enhances the learning experience. There is more of a chance to receive one on one interaction with experienced designers and mentors. JK’s values of passion, positivity and making a difference make the experience meaningful.

What’s one thing that has surprised you during your time here?

Chloe: Getting to know the different programs that we use at JK has been a challenge, but one that I know I’ll be able to handle. Also, I had to challenge myself to be more comfortable opening up and asking for help when I don’t know the answer to something.

Julia: One challenge I have yet to overcome is something that comes with practice, and that is presenting to others. The assignments I have worked on so far at JK are far different from the ones I am used to at school. Learning to discuss them in a way that is clear and concise is something I am still working on.

Sana: While working at JK, a challenge that I have encountered is trying to find the right balance between adhering to brand guidelines to satisfy a client and putting my own creative touch to design work.
